Hey Gang. Today's Gold Report features an unusual lawsuit about two songs that sounded way too similar for one artist to let slide.

First off, in better news--it was on this day in 1984 that the Bruce Springsteen mega album "Born in the USA" was certified gold and platinum.  It would go on to be certified Platinum 15 times by April of 1995.

Also on this day in 1984 the smash hit for Ray Parker Jr., "Ghostbusters," was certified gold.  That song would eventually be the subject of a major music lawsuit, involved in a lawsuit later because of a striking similarity between the song and Huey Lewis' mega hit "I Want A New Drug.".

Listen first to this:

Huey Lewis was approached first to do the soundtrack for the Bill Murray smash hit, but turned it down.

Here's the original song Lewis claimed, Parker Jr ripped off.

Do you hear it?  Here's some more help.
