The Beatles song book continues to be an inspiration for listeners and musicians alike. The inventive nature of their recordingS are matched by the uniqueness of the sounds they made. When one considers the skills of, say, Paul McCartney, it's very easy to see he is naturally talented, a virtuoso who never learn how to read music. At the same time, It's more difficult to single out the contributions of a more subtle player like Ringo Starr. Nowhere in the catalog is there a bum Phil or a botched beat. Because he lacked the flash of his pal Keith Moon, his contributions are sometimes overlooked. Sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes and a new set of drumsticks to appreciate his style.

Dig this, it's five minutes through the Beatles entire career as heard from Ringo's perspective. This drummer, Kye Smith, takes you on a long and winding road. Had it been a straight path, there's no way the Beatlea would have held our interest for so long.
