“Gee, I’m Just Nuts About Patriotism”

I recall the quote above from an issue of PARADE magazine from the 1980s. It was attributed to and splashed on the cover with a big picture of Chuck Norris. I thought to myself, "Tell us something we don't know, Chuck." His movies were patriotic alright, but they weren't very good either.

They were also violent. One of them had Chuck take on a rat. I don't want to tell you how it happened or how Chuck won - because you know he did -  but you're better off if you haven't seen it.

Growing up, there was one American hero over all others. His name was synonymous with movie star. In 1970, he wanted to show his gratitude to America. So he assembled a bunch of friends - now all legends - to play tribute to our sweet land. Liberals and conservatives, young and old, all races, all sincere. Dig it and see if you don't say how nuts you are about patriotism.
