Inside the Wildcat Press Box, Week 4: TEMPLE falls to undefeated 6A Cedar Ridge 28-14

It's the final non-district contest for the Temple Wildcats!!!!!  Looks to be a tough outing against a Cedar Ridge team that has beaten their 3 opponents by a total of 130+ to 10.  Yes, 10.  GO BIG BLUE!!!!!

QUARTER 1

T1:  The opening kickoff (sponsored by El Chico) goes out of the endzone.  CATS start on their 25.  1st and 10, #20 Franklin for 5 yards up the middle.  2nd and 5.  Hesse to Rumfield.  3rd and 3.  Handoff to #20 Franklin for a 1 yard loss. 4th and 4, CATS punting.  Cedar Ridge ball at their 40.

CR1:  SCORING DRIVE  1st and 10, #11 on the pass for about 11 yards.  1st and 10.  #33 takes it up the middle for 8.  2nd and 2 on the CATS 42.  #33 for a gain of 3.  1st and 10.  #11 passes up to the CATS 23.  1st and 10.  CATS in the backfield.  2nd and 13.  Flag moves it back.  1st and 25.  #11 picks up 13 on a keeper.  2nd and 12.  Timeout, Cedar Ridge. 8:17 in the 1st. #33 up the middle for 2.  3rd and 10.  #33 up the middle to the CATS 10.  1st and 10 from the 11.  #33 in for the Touchdown.  Extra point good. 7-0, Cedar Ridge, 7:11 in the 1st.

T2:  El Chico kickoff out of the endzone.  CATS on the 25, 1st and 10.  #20 Franklin for no gain.  Flag.  Offsetting.  1st and 10 from the 25.  Hesse to Heckstall to the 39.  1st and 10.  Hesse to Heckstall who fumbles on the 39.  Cedar Ridge recovers.

CR2:  1st and 10 on the Temple 39.  #11 pass to the 39 for no gain.  #33 up the middle for 4.  3rd and 6.  #11 on the keeper, President with an excellent tackle for a loss of 1.  4th and 7.  Cedar Ridge going for it.........  INCOMPLETE!!!!!!  CATS TAKE OVER ON DOWNS!!!

T2:  1st and 10, #20 Franklin for 4 yards to the CATS 40.  2nd and 6.  Hesse with the INT.  Cedar Ridge takes over at their 22.

QUARTER 4

CR3 (cont'd):  3rd and 4, at the CATS 38.  No gain.  4th and 4.  Cedar Ridge going for it!!  Completion, to the CATS 16.  1st and 10.  #33 up the middle for 2 yards.  #2 Logan makes a great tackle.  #11 into the endzone, but a holding flag brings it back.  2nd and 18 on the CATS 24.  #33 up the middle for 7 to the 17.  3rd and 11.  #11 to #18 into the endzone for the touchdown.  Extra point is good.  28-14.  9:18 in the quarter.
