When I was just a lad, I first saw The Godfather on TV as " The Godfather Saga: a novel for television ."   Francis Ford Coppola took Godfather and Godfather Part II and edited them in chronological order. Some footage was added that had been cut out of the original releases, while other more violent footage was edited because of television tandards . As much as I love the way the films are natively, I liked the way the full epic flowed. Once again, Coppola and The Godfather broke the rules and won.

Now, Coppola has teamed with HBO to bring back the saga as one longform event.  The movies will be edited in chronological order, without edits for violence or time, and with more unseen footage than ever before.  We are talking almost eight hours of Godfather awesomeness. Talk about binge viewing...Can't wait!
