Texas Not a Haven for Speed Traps

A recent report by the National Motorists Association shows that while Texas has one of the most egregious speed traps in the entire country, on the whole the state does not concern itself with pulling gotcha's on speeding drivers.

Texas came in 33rd of fifty states and DC in the speed trap report which can be accessed here. Vermont came in first for speed traps while Alaska was dead last (for lots of reasons probably involving the climate.) From the report:

Motorists can share speed trap information at a website designed for that purpose.

By the way, not only does it not shock me to see Louisiana in the top 10, the city in my own state with the most speed traps is my own hometown of Baton Rouge.

Unfortunately, not all of Texas is free and clear from traps. Near Dallas, the town of Coppell is the third-worst speed trap city in the entire USA.
