Hey Gang,

Some "sweet" songs went Gold on this day in music history, including a song turned down by the Monkees.

The Archies took the song after the Monkees said "No", and in 1969 "Sugar, Sugar" went Gold.

A few years later, in 1971, the Five Man Electrical Band went Gold with "Signs".
Also in 1971 we were blinded by the bright, perfect teeth of Donny Osmond as "Sweet & Innocent" went Gold.
In 1973 on this day, Super Canadian Helen Reddy cashed in Gold with "Delta Dawn"
The Police took their whole album Gold, or should I say, you took "Synchronicity" Gold because you liked the songs "Wrapped Around Your Finger", and the stocker hit "Every Breath You Take"
It took 7 years, but the album from Modern English called "After The Snow" finally went Gold in 1989.  It featured one of the best songs of the 80's, "I Melt With You".
It shared Gold on this day with a Paula.  That's Paula Abdul.  Her single "Cold Hearted".
