We're not done with 1973.  It was a busy day as Grand Funk Railroad received a Gold record for "We're an American Band".

The Country crossover classic "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" from the Charlie Daniels Band went as Gold as the Fiddle in 1979.

In 1981 the suicide promotional theme of Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie, "Endless Love", went Gold.  Do you remember the remake in 1994 by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross?  I'm sorry if you do.

In 1985 Heart's self titled album, with the hits "These Dreams", "What About Love" and "If Looks Could KIll", went Gold.

Also from 1985 we get the Gold Song of the Day.  It's  "Boy in the Box" from Corey Heart.  It had the the Juno Award winning single "Never Surrender" on it.  Remember?
