Summer '79 and this song was everywhere. It was the pulse of whatever was going on. Just as in the song, if you was roller skating down at the Skateworld, it was to this. Weird, us redneck and army brat kids grooving to a song loaded with lyrics about a lifestyle we could not comprehend or achieve. Clams on the half shell? The sporting life? What? And that groove, ground zero for rap's first break through, "Rapper's Delight."  Also Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust." Very cool. That bass line gave birth to and anchored a generation. Solid.
