And after the tragic death of half her band, Hynde and long time drummer Martin Chambers re-grouped, hired two new members, including incredible guitarist Robbie Macintosh and put together what I think is not only their best record, but one of the best albums, stem to stern, of the 1980's. And that was Learning To Crawl.

The album covered topics like loss, death and birth. In fact the album title "Learning to Crawl" was given in honor of Chrissie Hynde's then-newborn daughter, Natalie Rae Hynde, courtesy of Ray Davies. She was learning to crawl at the time that Chrissie was trying to determine the record's name. And that seems to be the theme of today's tune, a mother welcoming her child into this world, opening the mom to the love lacking in her life. "Show Me" is the title, and it is your K-101.7 Song Of The Day.
