Chic Goes Gold in 1978

Big Q here with a quickie.  It was on this day that K-1017 artist, Chic, went Gold with the classic hit "Le Freak".

It sold over Seven Million records, and was ranked number 19 on Billboard Magazines top 100 songs of the first 50 years of the "Hot 100" chart.  It was devised on New Years Eve of 1977.  According to Nile Rodgers, he, and bassist Bernard Edwards were not allowed in to Studio 54 by the elitist bouncers.
