Earlier today we posted a pretty strong forecast for rain, thunderstorms and their treacherous conditions. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, it hasn't happened as of yet.

Rusty Garrett from KWTX News 10 explained it to us in an email, which he does for us every afternoon.

"Atmospheric conditions stabilized to the point of lessening the risk of severe storms over Central Texas through tonight. Scattered thunderstorms may still develop, but better rain chances arrive Thursday with more of a flash flood threat."

Whew!

Okay, Rusty, so what about Thursday? Friday and the Weekend?

"High temperatures only reach the lower and middle 70s, over 10° below average for this time of year.
Heavy rain will be a concern as 1" to 3" totals with locally higher amount may fall. As rain ends from west to east early Friday morning, skies slowly clear leaving Central Texas with drier and warmer weather Friday through the upcoming weekend. Another disturbance may move through Central Texas late Sunday and Monday, bringing rain chances back into the forecast."
