There is no argument: "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" is a classic. Such a classic that I will not tolerate ANY dissent on this!

It lends itself to cinematic uses either theatrically, with a very enthused Laurence Fisbourne..

or on TV, the new cinema of our era, with striking visuals:

Sometimes, you hear a song so often you need a fresh take.

For whatever reason –  on Facebook things are completely random – someone posted a video of Devo on Saturday Night Live doing "Satisfaction." It's one of my favorite performances not simply because it's completely different (why Mick Jagger liked it) but because it's completely Devo. This band was so ahead of its time we're only now hearing pieces of their innovations in popular music with regards to texture and time signatures. For A song everyone in the world is heard 5 million times before, they managed to bring a fresh take on an old chestnut admittedly a chestnut that's really really great.

Another different version of the same song one that was actually contemporary with the stones original recording, is Otis Redding's funky take on Stax Records. It is a hip shaking marvel to hear.
