The song, and it's first line, the one about the raga dropping, came from the band's manager, while suffering through a seemingly unending jam. The foundation of the song came from soon to be ousted drummer Topper Headon, who in a mad dash of creative fervor, knocked out the drums, the piano and bass in one on fire recording session. Then, a little bit later, the band's Joe Strummer, tired of waiting for the rest of the band, went ahead and recorded all the guitar parts himself. So the record is more the work of a duo then the whole band.
