Temple vs. Corsicana: 2016 Playoffs Round 1

Temple High School, currently ranked 10th in Texas in Division I 5A will be facing Corsicana (ranked 79th in the same division) in the first round of the Division I 5A playoffs. They will meet at McLane Stadium in Waco this Friday with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

QUARTER 1

T1: #28 Jefferson takes the kickoff to the 45. 1st and 10. #20 Franklin up the middle for 2. 2nd down and 8. #4 Hesse gets sacked on the play. 3rd and 12. Attempted screen falls incomplete. 4th and 12. CATS punt to the 24.

C1: 1st and 10 at the Corsicana 24. #12 on the keeper around the right side for 5. 2nd and 5. #23 up the middle for 2. 3rd and 3. #23 on the carry for a loss of 1. 4th and 4. CATS call for the fair catch on the punt at the CATS 33.

C7: 1st and 10. #12 hits his receiver who takes it all the way down to the CATS 10. 1st and goal. #23 on the carry for no gain. 2nd and 10. Receiver hit, tackled at the CATS 6. 3rd and goal at the CATS 6. Corsicana calls a timeout. Ball falls incomplete in the endzone. 4th and goal at the 6. Corsicana sends in the FG team. FG is good. T1: 1st and 10, ball on the Corsicana 48. #20 Franklin picks up 2. 2nd and 8. #4 Hesse hits T. Johnson for 6. 3rd and 2. #20 Franklin up the middle to the 36. 1st and 10. #4 Hesse hit in the backfield. Loss of 8. 2nd and 18. #20 Franklin catches the screen pass and takes it to the 33! 3rd and 7. #4 Hesse throws it down the middle, ball falls incomplete. CATS go for it and turn it over on downs.

Gain of 1. 2nd and 9. #23 up the middle, totally shut down by the CATS. 3rd and 7. #11 Graham called for taunting. BAD CALL. Ball moved to the CATS 46. 1st and 10. #12 to #11 on the pass. Overthrows his receiver. 3rd and 10. #4 Hesse to the endzone, ball falls incomplete. Close one. 4th and 10. CATS going for it. #4 Hesse to #1 Heckstall converts the first down!!!! 1st and 10 at the Corsicana 17! #20 Franklin up the middle for 5. 2nd and 5. #33 Leach with the carry to the 5!! 1st and goal!!! #33 Leach on the carry. C5: Corsicana takes a knee in the endzone on the kickoff. Touchback. 1st and 10 on the 25. FUMBLE WAY behind the line of scrimmage!!!! Ball back at the Corsicana 5!!! 2nd and 30! #8 on the run to the right side. Gets 6. 2nd and 24. Ball on the Corsicana 11. #12 Hoffman pressured, throws it away. 4th and 24. Corsicana punting from the 11.

T5: CATS take the punt to the Corsicana 33. 1st and 10. #28 Jefferson up the middle for a yard. 2nd and 9. #28 Jefferson takes it around the right side for 3. 3rd and 6. #28 Jefferson bulls his way forward for the Lastovica Jewelers first down!!!
