It's another week of Texas High School football playoffs, and your Temple Wildcats have made it to the Elite Eight stage. The Temple Wildcats won their regional playoff game against the Port Arthur Memorial Titans 33-29 in a highly competitive game.

The Titans kicked a field goal with 52 seconds left in the game to take a 29-26 lead. The Wildcats would pull ahead after a long reception from TJ Rumfeld to Xavier Johnson. The Wildcats' Zion Leach would run in the two yard touchdown to give Temple the lead with 22 seconds.

Coach Stewart stressed how athletic these guys were across the board, and they definitely gave the Wildcats everything they could handle. Coach Martin, one of the offensive masterminds of the Temple Wildcats, stressed how TJ Rumfeld has come into his own, and really made such growth since the early parts of this football season.

The road to a state championship doesn't get any easier, with the Manvel Mavericks as the next opponent. Now as you may remember, the Temple Wildcats beat the Manvel Mavericks last year 24-23 at this same point last year.

Manvel is still a juggernaut with many Division 1 commits, but Coach Stewart said that won't matter to his players. The Temple Wildcats play fearless, and feel they can tackle any challenge that comes their way.

The Wildcats and Mavericks will be kicking off on Friday at 7:30 p.m at Prairie View A&M University's Panther Stadium.

It's just a little over two hours away, and our Wildcats will need a sea of blue cheering them on at Panther Stadium.
