Video of Hundreds of Teens Storm Movie Theater in Valentine’s Prank
A prank that was organized via social media ended in violence and chaos Saturday night as an estimated 800 to 900 teens in Florida rushed to enter a movie theater all at once.
Investigators say around 200 of the teens were able to flood into the AMC theater in Ocoee, Florida's West Oaks Mall without paying before security gates were closed. The kids ranged from middle to high school age and were likely participating in an organized prank dubbed MovieNight0214, which began circulating on social media sites back in January.
Witnesses say fights broke out as the massive crowd was being cleared from the parking lot. There were reports of gunfire and at least one robbery is known to have occurred. Police reportedly found drugs and a stolen car at the scene as well, and a number of kids fleeing the scene reportedly entered a nearby gas station and looted the place. Surprisingly, only two arrests were made: one for battery and resisting arrest, and another for misdemeanor drug charges.
There's no word on which movie the kids were so hellbent on seeing, though we're willing to bet it wasn't Jupiter Ascending.
