The last time I paid attention to a Duracell commercial was well never.  Well that has changed now that I have seen the spot starring Derrick Coleman, the first deaf offensive NFL player.  You should see it too. It is very inspiring.

Inspiring right, makes my whiny butt seem like a whiny butt!

Derrick was a fullback on the Seattle team that played in this year's Super Bowl.  He reads lips on the field. Just as I suspected, Derrick was bullied when he was a kid, he says his parents taught him to believe in himself. He just pushed and pushed until he made it to the NFL

His story so inspired twin sisters who happen to be deaf, they wrote him a letter.  Their father shared it with social media, that got them on TV and  a surprise from their hero.

I know most of you already know about this big guy, but I just came across Derrick Coleman's story and I had to share with "late to the party" people like myself.

I really hope the bullies learn from this guy.  I realize it would be a miracle if they paid attention, but I can hope!

At least Derrick Coleman can be an inspiration to kids who are struggling, just like he inspired those two little girls.
