A few of the big events that happened on this day in music history.

In 1975 the blond singer from Faces leaves the group to go solo with Atlantic Records. Yes, it was Rod Stewart.

In 1978 Led Zeppelin completed work on what would end up being their last album, In Through The Out Door.

And in 1982 on this day "Maneater" went to #1 so Hall and Oates passed the Everly Brothers as the biggest duo of all time.
