QB Kyler Murray to transfer Out of Texas A&M

The Aggies will be scrambling harder than the two top-tier quarterbacks they just lost in the last week. That's right. Texas A&M fans are probably aware of sophomore and 14-game starter Kyle Allen being granted a release to transfer from the school, though he did thank the university via Twitter:

But now true freshman and 5-star recruit Kyler Murray, who was guaranteed the starting position with Allen out of the picture, announced today he too will be leaving Texas A&M according to ESPN. According to his family, the school released Murray from his scholarship and he can transfer to any school  provided that it isn't in the SEC or on a team scheduled to face the Aggies over the next four years. However, according to the rules of signing a national letter of intent, it's still up to the schools discretion on whether Murray has to carry out the full academic year before transferring.

18-year-old Murray is one of Texas' most highly renowned high school players in history after leading the Allen High Eagles to three consecutive state championships, which culminated in a 43-game win streak. His high school career numbers were astronomical with 10,386 passing yards and 117 touchdowns as well as 4,129 rushing yards and 69 scores on the ground.

Murray signed his NLI with Texas A&M over the Longhorns, Oklahoma and Oregon.

The question now is: what is going on with the offensive unit over at College Station? The Aggies have posted a rather abysmal 2015 season statistically since the emergence of coach Kevin Sumlin in 2012, ranking 48th nationally in yards per game (423), 69th in scoring (28.3 points per game), and 97th in red zone efficiency (54.9%). There has been scrutiny over offensive coordinator Jake Spavital, who was primarily responsible for the recruitment of both Allen and Murray, but Sumlin has said there will be no decisions made until after the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl (Dec. 30) against Louisville.
