The Bulldawgs held the ball for just 2 minutes, 14 seconds in the first quarter, but it was more than enough time to build an insurmountable lead.

Copperas Cove ran a total of nine plays in the opening quarter, scoring four touchdowns en route to a 54-7 victory against Universidad de Nuevo Leon.

“We were explosive, and what really happened is that we got them in the hole,” Copperas Cove coach Jack Welch said. “When you are in those hole situations, and you can’t get out, and the wind is against you, it is tough to get out of that.”

For the Tigres, it was impossible.
