The hits just keep on coming for Texas. The humiliation at the hands of the Sooners was bad enough, but losing key players to injury only makes a bleak picture all the worse. One player the Longhorns definitely will not see again this year is junior DE Jackson Jeffcoat, who Sunday elected to undergo surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2012 season. Jeffcoat ruptured his right pectoral muscle during Saturday's game against OU -- less than a year after tearing his left pectoral muscle at the end of last season.

The news is better on David Ash. Contrary to a report by Orangebloods.com, UT head trainer Kenny Boyd said on Sunday that David Ash's injured wrist is not fractured, asinitial x-rays were negative and he has not been ruled out for Baylor.
