Dave Spins Loverboy!

If they had a contest for the dumbest but still big selling single of the 1980's, this would most certainly rank up in the upper reaches of DUH. So let's give it a spin, because we here at Dave Spins love stupid lyrics, and dumb videos...and Loverboy.

Oh, Canada. You give us Molsen, and Rush and, uh, lots of snow. And yes, 1980's pop rock titans Loverboy. Oh, sure you scoff, but as long as you didn't have to watch one of their videos, their tunes were pretty cool. I always thought the guitarist was particularly on point.  (I did a little research and discovered that Paul Dean, Loverboy guitarist, is now nearly seventy. WHAT!?!) If you could get past the bright red leather pants, the headbands, the Canadian teeth, you could have a pretty good time. Then, around 1983, there was apparently some kind of gas leak in their studio and they came up with lyrics so dirt stupid the guys in AC/DC would shake their heads in amazement.

It just occurred to me that "Canadian Teeth" would be a great band name.

Anyway, remember kids, "She likes her tapes on ten/Just like her anatomy" sounds a lot better when taken in context of IS THAT DRUMMER PLAYING THE DRUMS WITH GAS PUMP HANDLES!?! I was say maybe we should re-access the band's output but now IS THE WHOLE BAND DANCING ON TOP OF A BUNCH OF TNT BARRELS?
