When I started working in radio in 1988, government officials had yet to be paid off by big business, so it was impossible to own more than 2 stations in a town, so record company's had to deal with a lot of individual stations.  What all this means is, lots of free music.

One of the albums I got from my Music Director was from the Fixx called "Calm Animals".  The big hit was "Driven Out", but the song that I liked the most was track 4 called "Precious Stone".  It's about treating the planet as a precious stone.  You could tell how young and naive I was at the time.  Now I realize that it's extremely arrogant to think that a tiny spec of pond waste could somehow protect a massive planet.  Come on.  When this planet gets tired of us, all it has to do let out a little fart over Wyoming and we'll all  be gone.  Now I'm not saying to treat the planet like your personal toilet, I'm saying use common sense, (what little you have) and do the nice things you learned in kindergarten.  Pick up after yourself, treat the Planet like your home.  You know, the stuff you forgot 10 minutes after you left kindergarten.  Anyway, here's a chance to take a ride down to liberalville with the Fixx.
