You might have heard about a second "British Invasion" in the 80's, but you might not realized that they had a large support from the land down under.

To me, the ultimate Aussie band will always be AC/DC but they weren't the only ones who made the long journey to America.  I've already mentioned a couple of bands.  Moving Pictures gave me my favorite 80's hit, "What About Me".  Then there was a middle of road hit in America from the group, the Models with "Out of Mind, Out of Touch".  Well, do you remember Midnight Oil and their hit "Beds are Burning"?

Then, if a boy had a chance, there was Icehouse with "Electric Blue"
The smoothest sound came from the The Church with "Under the Milky Way"
By way of New Zealand comes a group that split in the 80's, but did have a few hits.  Key word is split.  It's Split Enz, with "One Step Ahead"
The surviving members turned into Crowded House, because they didn't want to dream it was over.
Of course some bands are a little easier to remember, like Men at Work and their Vegemite sandwiches in the "Land Down Under"
But of course the biggest 80's pop bands from Australia has to be INXS.  My all time favorite hit was one of there first, and its because someone asked me to do this.  Yes, it was a girl that did the asking.  It's"Don't Change".  Of course she could have asked me anything and I'd done it.  That's the way one sided love works.

I'm sure I missed a couple as these were just of the top of my head.  If you have a favorite Aussie band let me know.
