A Daughter’s Facebook Plea Saves a Dad’s Life
Thanks to a quick thinking 10 year old and Facebook, a West Virginia Dad is recovering after a tree fell on him.
Brianna Vance turned to Facebook after a severe storm tore through the neighborhood. Her father, Gregory Vance, and two friends had been sitting on the front porch when a huge tree came fell on top of them.
The storm knocked out cellphone service, and the house had no land-line. But they still had the internet. So that is how Brianna got help.
For Brianna, Facebook seemed like her only option.
“I was scared. I needed help. My dad needed help,” she said. “So I had to post that.”
Someone saw her online plea and called 911. Rescue crews arrived cut the tree up, freed the men, and rushed them to the hospital. All are recovering.
After all the excitement, Brianna shared a special Father’s Day message with her dad, on Facebook of course.
“I hope you get well soon,” she said, “because you are the best dad I could ever ask for.”
