Did you see what they did to the Time Warner "Wishing Well" Commercial?

They decided not to let the little girl have her puppy.  Don't be like my husband, you know what I am talking about!  When this commercial first came out, at the end the Mom asks "Where is the nearest pet store?" So she can make the kids wish come true.  Not anymore.

As you can see Time Warner took the pet store question off.  They altered the spot because people got mad. Lots of folks believe pets store puppies come from those horrible puppy mills where dogs are born and raised in deplorable conditions. The Time Warner Facebook page got lots of complaints.

Somebody started a change.org petition to get the commercial off the air.  The article sends us to a Forbes magazine blogger who writes that a pet store is the worst place to buy a puppy. He cites the HBO documentary, Madonna of the Mills,  which claims virtually all pet store puppies are raised in puppy mills in horrible conditions, and the puppies are sickly with parasites and other serious issues.

Even though the petition did not get all 5000 signatures, Time Warner took the pet store remark off the spot.

Good for them, but  I still want that little girl to get a puppy.  Maybe they could add,  "Where is the nearest animal shelter?"
