Hey Der, Big Q here.  Back when MTV played music videos one artist that caught my eye, because of puberty, was Patty Smyth of Scandal.  I'd never heard the term "Lost in Your Eyes" before, because we were still a few years away from hearing Debbie Gibson, but I experienced it with Patty.  Here's a few facts you might not have know about Patty Smyth.

You might have heard about a second "British Invasion" in the 80's, but you might not realized that they had a large support from the land down under.

I guess AC/DC was a big influence on me in my youth.  I've notice that I enjoyed quite a few band from down under.  Here's another one.  Do you remember the Models?

Time for a Big Q Hit.  It was on this date in 1972 that the Fifth Dimension smash hit "Last Night I didn't Get to Sleep at All" was certified Gold.  It took 19 more years for it to go Platinum.

Hey Gang, Rumor mill has started around work about adding more hits to the library.  Figured I'd take this time to through my 2 cents in on my favorite 80's song.  It's from the Australian Rock Band Moving Pictures.  Its called "What About Me".  It wasn't a major hit in the U.S., only reaching #29, but it was the 2nd biggest song of 1982 in Australia.  The song was written by Garry Frost

Hey Gang, One of the songs from the 60's I'd like to hear on K1017 is from The Band.

Listener Cynthia Robinson sent in a request for a few hits that we don't play (and should).  One of them was this classic from Sonny & Cher.  Its such a good choice I'd figured I should Cher it with everyone. (HA!).  Here's a weekend treat from 1965.

Hey Der, Time again to trip back in the Way-back machine to 1971 for the next Big Q Hit.  It's Cornelius Brothers and Sister Roses, "Treat Her Like a Lady".  The band is just what it says with brothers Carter & Eddie, with their sister Rose Cornelius.  Another sister, Billie Jo, was added later on.  They had 2 Gold hits  in their short career, this one being the first, and "Too

Hey Gang, Time to jump into the way-back machine to 1971.  Paul Revere & the Raiders tried to change up their image and sound in the early 70's.  One of the things they did was to shorten their name to the Raiders.  There biggest hit during this transitional period was "Indian Reservation".  It went to #1 in July for the simple reason that it's a good song.  In my opinion, it was the

Hey Gang, I was always forced to watch what my parents liked on TV growing up, not that there were many options with only 3 channels to chose from.  So I got big doses of "The Waltons", and "Sonny & Cher".  I was young, but I new there was something I liked about Cher, oh sure, it might have been her great voice, but it also might have been here clothing, IE, lack there of.
