It seems the news I get from my hometown is never good if I hear about it from other people in the building.  Today was no different.  The news was bad, but the news was about the guy reading the news.  It was his first time on the air.  He had to introduce the top stories live over some video.  He tripped up and stuttered a little.  While the rest of the video and produced introduction played he started cursing himself.  Trouble was, his microphone was live. Enjoy every announcers worst nightmare. Warning, Not Safe For Work, unless you work in a brothel.

The first time I ever turned on the microphone and began to speak over the radio, you could've gone swimming in my flop sweat.  I thought I was so bad that I, purposely, changed my name to Rick Phoster before my shift began.  That way no one would know it was me sounding like crap on the radio.  That first air-shift was a nightmare.  One time I turned on the mic and called myself some other name.  Nope, not my real name, not the fake name I decided to use, some other name all together.  I went home at midnight thinking, well, it could be worse, I could've swore on the air.  This guy can't say that.  Well, at least it was the Sunday evening shift, people are used to hearing that type of language on a Sunday.  Wonder how this will turn out.

One and done it is.  Bright side.  Not that many people get famous on one news broadcast.
