I Touch Myself Singer Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls Passes Away

You might not recognize the name, but you'll recognize the song from Chrissy Amphlett.  Lead Singer of the Divinyls has passed away.

When I first got into Radio, the business was different.  Music Companies would have to talk to each radio station on an individual basis.  Which meant that we would get CD's of new music each week.  The whole "shock jock" style was big then, and even though "shock" was not a style welcomed in North Dakota, I still liked to shock people on a one-on-one basis.  In 1991 The Divinals made it easy with a new single called "I Touch Myself".  It was a catchy song that you could...dance to, yea, that's the ticket.

The Divinals lead singer, Chrissy Amphlett, passed away Monday Morning.  Her husband, and former Divinyls drummer, Charley Drayton, said she died of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis. She was 53.
