I love me some Pot Pie. I'm sure that means something different these days in Colorado

Growing up it was Banquet Pot Pies from the stove

and Washington State, but for me, it'll always mean a delicious, flakey, meat & veggie filled concoction that taste great on a cold winter day.

Growing up it was Banquet Pot Pies from the stove. When the microwave came about, it took a few years before they made a good pot pie. The change for me came when I tried Marie Callender's pot pies. They stick a warming element in the box so the microwave actually browns the crust. Amazing.

Some restaurants try to do pot pies. Here is your litmious test. If you order a pot pie and the pie only has a crust on top, that is an epic fail. A pot pie is jut that, a pie. Filling inside a crust, not filling inside a pan with dough on the top. I'm looking at you KFC.

If you have the time today, run by the store and pick up a few pot pies for supper tonight. You'll be glad you did.
