Okay, certainly a lot of lists popping up on the old K-101.7 Homepage. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Us moderns, we love the list format, especially if it's some kind of countdown. *Oh, sweet countdown format.* So here is a list you might wanna keep handy in case you're thinking about not mucking up your kitchen and wanna head out for some food and fun and stuff.

He started with a food truck. And the food was amazing. Now he has a restaurant you must absolutely visit. His name is Akira, he deals in a Korean/American/Hispanic fusion that will straight up satisfy your hangry self. The atmosphere is very casual, you can dine in or carry it out, and this is something you must do. My favorite was the Kalbi Burger, a delicious meaty mouthful of fantastic topped with Kimchi and a fried egg. Sweet food o' mercy, it was good. Akira's is located Whiskey Business in Killeen, 704B E Veterans Memorial Blvd. Google it. Put it in your G.P.S. GO THERE. Find out much MUCH more by clicking the picture below. For the next two, we take a pleasant and quick drive to the bustling metropolis of...Lampasas. We are in search of good home cooking, the real stuff, food that proves eating local is always the best choice. First off, In my opinion, if you have the craving for a real, make your mouth happy hamburger, you cannot do better than the Storm's..

Ah, Storm's. There's something perfect and small town right about this place. Dare I say maybe if Mayberry had a drive up joint, it would be this great? You know, Elvis ate here. He drove up to the restaurant just off of Key Avenue,  pressed that button, and indulged his southern sensibilities in those crispy fries, those onion rings, maybe a corn dog. Come to think of it, however, you and I know he would settle for nothing less than:

I'm thinking he had the Storm's special. It's my favorite, cos it's a triple, with cheese, and it'll get you where you need to be. Sure, Storm's has other locations, but this is ground zero for Central Texas Yummy, and I'm wondering why I'm not there right now?

Next, we're hopping over to Gatesville and one of my absolute favorite things about living here in Central Texas, our easy access to our very own, honest-to-goodness drive in.

I've written enthusiastically about The Last Drive In Picture Show before, and you can check out that glowing review HERE. That in mind, I'll keep this brief. You gotta check this place out. Especially with the summer popcorn movie season anxiously waiting right there on our doorstep. The best concession prices anywhere, first run features in full stereo right through your car speakers, all under the summer stars? All at only ten bucks a car load? Two movies for ten bucks? I'm already loading the Raisenettes in my butter-soaked popcorn as you read this.

And speaking of movies, check out us guys "Ferning Out" over The Avengers: The Age Of Shoving Fifty Eight Characters And Sixty Two Plot lines Into One Movie. It's fun!
