SONG OF THE DAY! IT'S A TOE TAPPER!  Here we go with Day Number Four Of our highly personal Songs Of The Summer series. Today we are taking the show straight to the city park public pool, the Texas summer air heavy with the smell of Coppertone and chlorine. This being the early eighties, they haven't taken down the high dive yet, and there I am right at the edge of that board, the pool, the people and what seems like the entire city park spread out before me, miles below.

The pool speakers are cranked, and above all the splashing and screaming, a song by Alabama ends and this song take blasts out, this band's poppy, diet-Skynard version of hairy dude Southern bar band crunch filling my ears just I step off that diving board and fall through the air, seemingly for days. And just as my plummeting body hits the surface of the water...

...I wake up in my 47 year old body in 2014, realizing 1981 was a LONG time ago, the high dive is LONG gone and my dog with the nervous bladder has whizzed all over the bed.

*SIGH* You never really can go back, can you?
