Your first instinct might be to laugh at a story like this, but the more you read about what happened the quicker you realize that abusive people can have a hair trigger.

Police in Wichita Falls, Texas say a man choked and head-butted his girlfriend after she told him his flatulence smelled horrible.

KARK-TV shared the police report last Sunday. According to the report, the woman and her boyfriend, Christopher Ragsdale, were sitting on the coach at a friend's house on January 5 when Ragsdale passed gas.

"She told Christopher that his fart smelled horrible," the report reads, "and he got mad and grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground."

The victim said she landed on her stomach, after which Ragsdale sat on her back, wrapped an arm around her neck, and started choking her. She was able to cry for help, and Ragsdale got off of her as their friend entered the room.

According to the victim, the friend went to a bedroom to retrieve car keys so she and the victim could leave. While the friend was getting the keys, Ragsdale reportedly began yelling in the victim's face, and the friend witnessed Ragsdale headbutt the victim as she was walking back into the room.

The officer who made the report wrote that he saw red marks on the victim's neck and forehead.

Ragsdale was arrested and charged with assault family violence - choking. Jail records indicated he was still in the Wichita County Jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Normally if a couple got into a fight about something like this, it'd be kinda funny. But when someone gets violent, a line has definitely been crossed.
