The Lampasas Spring Ho Festival has been a Centex tradition since 1972! The festivities continue this week with events all the way through July 15th.

Find the complete schedule at www.SpringHo.com.

The Spring Ho Festival includes the Spring Ho Beauty Pageant, the Hayloft Party Talent Contest, the Kiddie Fishing Derby, the County Fair, the Keystone Square Museum special exhibits, the Spring Ho Carnival, a Dance Contest, the Arts & Crafts Fair, a Pet Parade, the Diaper Derby, a BBQ Cook-off and more!

The concert on July 14th features Flatland Cavalry and Koe Wetzel at the Lampasas County Courthouse at 7 PM.

According to the Spring Ho Festival website back in 1972, a naming contest was held in which an anonymous person paid a $25 donation and suggested the name "Spring, Ho!". It's meaning is said to imply a direction much like "Westward, Ho!". The festival takes place during the second week of July each year which is clearly more a part of the summer season than spring, but the name stuck anyway.
