KWTX reported that a woman who from a highway bridge in the Central Texas area was taken to a local hospital for the injuries she sustained on Wednesday night.

The woman was jumping from the bridge attempting to end her life and commit suicide when she took the leap.

The injuries she suffered from the jump are said to be non-life threatening. Sargent of the Waco Police Department, W. Patrick Swanton said, the woman leaped from the State Highway 6 access road and landed on the eastbound of West Waco Drive.

This occurred slightly after 8:00 p.m., at the intersection of Waco Drive and West Loop 340 near Richland Mall in Waco. The woman who made the jump suffered a broken leg, and was treated for her injuries. She was also adminstered a mental health evaluation as well.

The incident caused for West Waco Drive to be shutdown till around 8:30 p.m. in the eastbound direction.
