The coronavirus is taking its toll on everything involving a public gathering. Schools are closing, concerts, festivals, sporting events are all being cancelled. Dine-in restaurants are closing, and now AMC and Regal have announced it'll be closing movie theaters as well.

The North American box office just had its worst weekend since 2000. So what will Hollywood do? I'm not sure, but Universal Studios has a plan.

They're making their movies available to watch at home the same day they open in theaters. What a great idea!

First up? DreamWorks's Trolls World Tour on April 10.

Universal also said it'll make its movies currently in theaters, including The Invisible Man and Emma, available on-demand as soon as Friday.

The 48-hour rentals will have a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Personally, I like the idea of being able to watch new movies without going to a theater. My microwave popcorn and a six pack is all I need to make it a great evening.
