Train Carrying Diesel Fuel Derails in Holland, Texas
Firefighters had an early start in Holland, Texas this morning after a derailment on Pegram and Front Street around 3:45 a.m.
Thankfully the Holland Fire Department says nobody was injured as a result of the train derailment. The downside is that the tracks will take some time to repair so drivers can expect delays throughout the day today while they continue to work on them. If you are trying to get around the accident in Holland, the Travis Street crossing is closed. In fact, all crossings besides Fanning Street are blocked to through traffic.
The early moments of the crash were tense as some of the train cars carried diesel fuel which thankfully did not spill. Michael Harmon, Bell County emergency management coordinator, is on the scene of the derailment.
