More road construction is on tap for Killeen this week as road work continues on Interstate 14 at Clear Creek Road.

TxDOT says the westbound lanes of I-14 at Clear Creek Road will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning tonight. The work will continue tomorrow night. Then from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday TxDOT will close the eastbound lanes.

The eastbound exit ramp to North Clear Creek will also close from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday according to a press release.

Contractors will be setting deck panels for the new westbound to eastbound turnaround bridge that will include the main lanes of I-14 and the eastbound exit ramp to Clear Creek Road.

Traffic headed eastbound and westbound on I-14 will be routed to the frontage road, and north and southbound traffic on Clear Creek Road will go to down to one lane traffic at the bridge. Law enforcement officers are scheduled to be on hand to control traffic according to TxDOT.

Capital Excavation of Austin, Texas is in charge of the $4.5 million dollar project which is scheduled for completion by mid-summer.
