This Pizza Lady’s Yell Can Outdo Tarzan

Do they still have the Carnival Barkers?  Those folks yelling at you to come try this game or that?  Have you ever heard of a Pizza Barker?  They have one at the HEB in San Marcos.Her name is Sherlon Jackson, they call her the Pizza Lady.

That was in 2013, the first year the San Marcos HEB started selling the store made pizza. Not many people were buying it until Sherlon got involved.

One day she handed out samples and ended up selling about 75 pizzas . After that came regular pizza demos on Wednesdays. At one point, Jackson sold 175 pizzas in one day, social media helped her break 200.

“We posted on Facebook, made flyers and spread the word to city officials,” Jackson said. New record, 225 pizzas sold.”

Last year she had a one day total of  278, this year Sherlon decided to go for 300 hundred.

The store made the record breaking try a big event and once again social media, friends and family paid a big part.

When the day came on March 4, some customers bought boxes of pizzas in bulk.

Record broken - 366 pies sold!

So of course Sherlon has set a new goal for next year.  She hopes to sell 450 pizza pies in one day!
