The summer sure has flown by quickly as it does each year, and before ya know kids in Bell County will be back in the classroom.

While Central Texans continue to prepare for 'Back To School', plenty of people are planning to do their back to school shopping around the Tax-Free Weekend coming up August 9th, 10th, and 11th.

School supplies, some clothing items, and even some footwear are all up for grabs during the state's sales tax holiday. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding shoppers that items like backpacks, clothing, and school supplies that are priced under $100 are sales tax exempt. Shoppers can expect to save about $8 on every $100 spent.

With about a week to go, you can start planning with a visit to TexasTaxHoliday.org. All together the comptroller's office says shoppers in Texas will save about $102.2 million in state and local sales taxes next weekend.

Thankfully, Texas has given "Back to School" season it's own tax-free holiday since 1999 so take advantage and SAVE!

Keep in mind the hundreds of students who have requested assistance with school supplies this year.

Townsquare Media continues the tradition of "Stuff the Bus" through August 12th to answer the call from students in Killeen, Temple, and Belton who need assistance. Dropping off just a couple of items and any of our "Stuff the Bus" sponsor locations goes a long way to help so many kids get back to school with the supplies they need.

See all of our sponsors, drop off locations, and some ideas about what items to donate using the "Stuff the Bus" button below.
