The Ice Bucket Challenge continues to gather donations for the fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS.   So far over 4 million has been raised.

It's easy to do.  Dump some ice water on your head then challenge others to do it. Oh don't forget to video the whole thing.   The nominees get 24 hours to do some dumping, or they must donate.  The Kennedy's have done it, so has Martha Stewart and Justin Timberlake.  Ethel Kennedy challenged President Obama, he sent a donation instead. You can dump and donate too!

It didn't start with ALS, but that's the charity getting all the attention thanks to Pete Frates, a 29-year-old Massachusetts resident diagnosed with ALS.  He learned of the challenge and posted it on social media.

ALS attacks the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.  There is no treatment and no cure for ALS. Patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

Pete cannot speak and has a feeding tube because he can no longer swallow. He uses a computer with eye retina software to communicate.

Last year at this time ALS raised about a million dollars.  So far this year, the Ice Bucket Challenge has brought in over 4 million dollars.  Once you are ready to donate you can do so at the ALS Website.
