The City of Killeen has Plenty of Christmas Activities for the Family

The annual Killeen kick off to the Christmas season starts tonight with Holiday Under the Stars.  Hopefully the weather isn’t going to mess it all up.   If things get cancelled I will tell you.  But let’s keep our fingers crossed that all will happen as planned.

The annual Holiday Under the Stars Celebration starts at six tonight, (Dec 6) at the Killeen Community Center, 2201 East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

It's Free fun for the whole family.  Music, arts and crafts, face painting, carnival rides, food, and a whole lot more.  At 6:30 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive to light the holiday tree and pose for photos. This is what it looked like last year.

At 7 p.m., the festivities will move to the Amphitheater for the movie, Rise of the Guardians.  Guests should bring lawn chairs and blankets.   Families can enjoy free cookies and cocoa from Keep Killeen Beautiful.

Saturday morning, Dec 7, the fun kicks off with the Jingle Bell Dash 5K at 8 AM at the Killeen Community Center. It's part of the Centex Race Series, but walkers are welcome too.

Then there's breakfast with Santa, For just 5 dollars per child, kids get breakfast and a photo with Santa.   Breakfast in Toyland will be held from 8 - 11 AM.  Pancakes, sausage, milk, and juice will be served. Kids continue to bring your letters to Santa’s mailbox at the Killeen Community Center and the Family Recreation Center through Dec. 16.

Holiday Under the Stars is just the beginning of the Killeen celebrations.

Santa will read stories at the Main Library next Thursday December 12 at 6:00 pm. You will find Santa in the Children's room.

On Saturday, December 14,  visit the Merry Market at the Killeen Arts and Activities Center, 802 North Second Street, it opens at 2.  Browse and buy, marvel at the arts and crafts.  Then get ready for the Killeen Christmas Parade.  It starts at 4:30 pm, downtown Killeen of course.  You can check out the Parade route right here.

HEB brings the Feast of Sharing to Killeen, December 17 from 4-8 p.m.  The Free holiday meal will be served at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, 3601 South WS Young Drive.  The Feast of Sharing is open to everyone!  There will be live entertainment, fun activities, a hot plate of delicious holiday food and Santa!
