I've been a huge fan of  Roy Orbison ever since I was a lad. How could any man have such an amazing voice, it must truly be divine invention. So today I was thumbing through a list of famous rock 'n' roll moments on TV  featuring music stars of the 1960's.

Surprisingly, this performance by Roy Orbison from 1981 was on the list. It came a long time after the song had been a hit, but better late than never. I can do without all of the redneck Rebel Yell sound effects,  but I certainly don't mind looking at Daisy Duke during all of this.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the other Texas music legend music who appeared on every episode of the Dukes of Hazzard. Country music's Waylon Jennings played the unseen balladeer. He wrote and sang the show's famous theme song, which went on to be a radio hit for him. His mother never understood why they kept showing only his hands and not his face on TV. Eventually, Waylon would show up in front of the camera on the show. So did Willie Nelson who went on to play uncle Jesse in the movie version. Still, with all the Texas connections I don't think Hazzard County was in the Lone Star State.
