It's not too much for me to ask that when I go home for vacation that misery doesn't follow me. Seriously, don't bring your Texas bad news with you, because it becomes horrible news in at least two states.

Two Texas women, Shaun Buchanan, 37, of Newark and Cynthia Simmons, 25, of Denton are alleged to have of left a child in a hot car Friday afternoon in a Walmart parking lot in Elmwood, a suburb of New Orleans, according to Jefferson Parish sheriffs office spokesman Col. John Fortunado.

Buchanan is the child's mother, Simmons is an aunt.

According to local news reports, Walmart staffers attempted to rescue the child from the car. The child's father now has the boy.

By the way, if Fortunado's name is familiar, you may remember him from the A&E reality TV cop show, "Steven Seagal Lawman." Fortunado is Highup in the Jefferson Parish sheriffs office, having previously worked with Seagal and Jefferson Parish's long time sheriff, the late Harry Lee. In this montage, you can see Fortunado complain about his kidneys.
