Texas Panhandler Admits to Making One Thousand Dollars a Weekend
While you have your nose to the grind trying to make ends meet, a man in Abilene is sitting in a wheelchair two days a week making close to one thousand dollars. To make matters worse, the guy isn’t homeless and he doesn’t even need a wheelchair.
Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge posted about the man on Facebook in effort to give the public a heads up. Standridge says the man, who sits in a wheelchair at Hwy 83/84 and FM 707 every weekend, actually lives at a south-side residence and is dropped off every weekend at the intersection.
Chief Standridge has an awesome idea about what you can do to help those in need without being ripped off. He says give your money directly to a non profit who will then in turn distribute the money to the homeless.
