Divorces can get very messy, especially when one side isn't quite ready to let go or move on. In some cases, one of the parties are VERY READY to move on - so ready that they are willing to commit a FELONY to be free from the old "ball and chain".

51-year-old Paul Nixon out of Houston was in a rush to get out of his marriage, so on the day after Valentine's Day (Feb. 15) of this year, he filed for a divorce from his wife according to KPRC. Roughly 2 months later on April 17, uncontested waiver divorce papers were submitted to the court with one problem: Mr. Nixon's wife apparently didn't know about the divorce.

She contacted Harris County constable investigators and told them that Nixon had allegedly forged her name on the divorce decree and forged the name of a notary public.

If you didn't know, filing court papers and forging someone's name on them is a FELONY, and Mr. Nixon is now wanted for aggravated perjury. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.

And for his troubles, he's still legally married because the court decided to set aside the final judgment due to the falsified documents. So not only could Mr. Nixon do some time, but he's still stuck in his marriage until a judge says otherwise.

I'll let the words of Johnnie Taylor sum this up: "It's cheaper to keep her".
