Temple police are investigating after a woman was stabbed in her home on South 5th Street.

Temple PD Media Relations Specialist  Chris Christoff reports that police were called to the 1600 block of South 5th Street Saturday morning in reference to a stabbing. Christoff did not specify a time.

One woman had been stabbed. An initial investigation revealed that a man the women knew entered her home through a window before attacking her. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, and is reportedly in stable condition.

Police did not release further details late Saturday morning.


 

This is the second reported stabbing in Temple in a little over a week.

On Thursday, June 18, police dispatched to the Bridge Apartments, 404 South Fryers Creek Circle, around 9:50 PM. They found 68-year-old Rose Davis with life-threatening stab wounds. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, where she later passed away.

Two suspect were arrested in that case the following day. Police identified one of them as 37-year-old Christopher Romel Henry, who was charged with capital murder. He remained in the Bell County Jail Saturday, June 27 in lieu of $1 million bond.
