I was always a firm believer that if you put up a Christmas tree, you should keep it up all year. Sure, people called me lazy.

"You just don't want to take the time to tear it down! You're lazy!"

But really, why do we have to have the "giving" spirit only in December? If you had that tree up all year round I bet you'd be a happier person.

Imagine waking up every morning at 3 a.m. to pee, because you're old and your bladder is weak, and you'd see the tree. You'd smile as you run to the toilet to relieve yourself. You might even smile while you're doing it.

Well, good news. I'm not lazy. Well, maybe a little, but it's Christmas in July! I guess others see my "logic" and they're starting small with one more Christmas tree per year.

Anyway. It's the 4th Annual Christmas in July fundraiser for Foster Love Bell County. How it works is, you just set up a tree, and folks will come and decorate it for you.

The Temple Police Department is participating, so come by their lobby, take a picture or two, and make a donation to help out the kids.
