Temple Assisted Care Facility Resident Hospitalized with COVID-19

A Temple woman has been hospitalized with Bell County's 8th case of COVID-19.

In a media release issued Saturday evening, the Bell County Public Health District said the woman is in the 40-50 age range and has underlying health conditions.

It is currently unclear how the woman, who was a resident of an assisted care facility in Temple, contracted the virus. Therefore, health officials are treating the case as one of community spread.

Residents and staff of the facility are currently undergoing testing. At this time, residents are remaining in the facility, and staff have been asked to self-isolate at home pending test results.
